ATHLETES’ PROFILE: ANSAH SARFO
Ansah Sarfo is a Ghanaian Sprinter who rose to prominence in Ghana as an athlete of the University for Development Studies in Tamale, Ghana where he won both the 100 and 200 meters, as well as the 4x100 relay during the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) games. Sarfo represented Ghana in the recent Tokyo 2020 Olympics as part of the 4x100 quartet who qualified to the finals.
Prior to that, the 23-year-old competed at the summer Universiade in Napoli, Italy. Ansah also represented Ghana at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia and the ECOWAS Athletics Championships in Nigeria and Burkina Faso.
The former Ghana’s Fastest Human recorded his 100-meter Personal Best (PB) time of 10.24 set at the Ahmad’s Bello University Sports Complex in Kaduna, Nigeria in 2021, and his 200m PB which stands at 20.90 was set in Cape Coast, Ghana in 2017.
He also holds the record as the fastest Ghana based athlete with a time of 10.14s.
